Just reminding you to come and share your talents and strengths with us at our next luncheon.  I have asked a couple of organizations that help women in need to join us and tell some success stories.  If you know a woman that was inspired, or know an organization with a good story of women helping women, please let me know or invite them to share with us.  This luncheon will be a holiday celebration.  We have a couple of door prizes.  If you want to donate one of your own, please bring it with you.  Dress holiday-ish.  Let’s have some fun!!!!!  And I have asked our servers to offer a holiday cocktail to anyone interested.  It will be a cash bar.  The best part is that we are doing what we women always do….take care of others!!  We are collecting items for women and children in need in our community.  Below is a list of items requested and the charities that they are going to.  you do not have to stay for lunch if you want to make a donation.  And if your business or club wants to do their own collection, we are happy to pick up items from you and deliver them to the charities indicated.  Colebrook Village is doing a collection at their workplace (and I know crazy Pam will collect a van full of goodies) that we will be picking up the week after our luncheon.  Strong women can move mountains!!  So they can certainly buy deodorant, tampons and diapers!!!  Ok, more fun stuff like mittens and hats and coats and boots too.  J  See you all Tuesday.

The Chamber of Commerce, Windham Region, is proud to announce that one of its three main focuses this year has been its Women’s Council.  The Chamber created the Women’s Council to provide services and programs to support and encourage women’s leadership and ownership in business and to strengthen the impact of women on the economy by creating jobs, fueling economic growth, and building strong communities. Our goals are to:

    • Increase awareness of entrepreneurship as a viable means of economic self-sufficiency
    • Accelerate the growth rate of enterprises owned by and/or run by women
    • Encourage and support women in leadership roles
    • Stimulate public policy and system changes that support and strengthen economic, intellectual and emotional empowerment of women
  • Provide opportunities for women to meet each other, network and support each other, both professionally and personally, in a positive and effective venue.

The Women’s Council meets monthly on the second Tuesday of the month at 11:30-1:00 at Willibrew.  Lunch is included for $20 for Chamber members and $25 for non-members.  If you would like to be a part of this exceptional experience please call us for more information at 860-423-6389 or visit our website WindhamChamber.com.
