September 17 @ 5:30 pm - 8:30 pm
Hartford, CT – Celebrate summer in the lovely Butler-McCook Garden – located between the Butler-McCook House and the Amos Bull House – and support the historic garden! Connecticut Landmarks and The West Hartford Garden Club present the End-of-Summer Garden Party on Tuesday, September 17th from 5:30 to 8:30 pm. The event will honor the life and work of landscape designer, The Dirt Salon arts venue founder, and Hartford arts supporter Cynthia Dodd.
Enjoy late summer fare from Inspired Catering by Lisa Cole, signature cocktails, wine, and beer from City Steam Brewery. Rock out with surf-rock trio The Aquatudes featuring Tom Bittel on guitar, Dick Bascom on drums, and Mike Rocchetti on bass. The evening will feature house and garden tours, an auction, and the opportunity to support the purchase of Victorian plantings for the Butler-McCook garden.
“We’re delighted to have such an impressive group of supporters. It’s a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the life of an amazing woman, while raising funds for a great cause. The Butler-McCook Garden is truly an urban oasis; we’re privileged to have people enjoy it,” said Sheryl Hack, Executive Director of Connecticut Landmarks.
Guests will also have the opportunity to see the recently completed Butler-McCook Garden Entry and Greenhouse projects, as well as the beautiful garden which has been maintained by The West Hartford Garden Club for over 30 years.
