The Chamber of Commerce, Windham Region, in partnership with the Salvation Army, TVCCA and RSVP, will be hosting a weekly Veterans’ Coffee House on Wednesdays at 9 am at the Salvation Army, 316 Pleasant Street, Willimantic. The coffeehouse provides a comfortable and supportive location for veterans of any age to meet, socialize, communicate and provide and discuss information regarding veteran benefits and services through federal and state agencies and programs. It is an opportunity for Veterans to meet and talk to each other. Free for anyone to attend, refreshments provided, handicap accessible. For more information please call the Chamber at 860-423-6389 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
Vinny will talk about how he came to start the Veterans Productions Program with two fellow Vietnam Veterans, Kenny and Glenn, Composer and Orchestra Leader respectively. One of Vinny’s goals was, and remains, to showcase the power and creative energy of our Veterans, particularly, Vietnam Veterans and invite the community to collaborate with these Veterans to create something new and unique.
In December Veterans Production will put on a musical “Through The Eyes Of A Child”. This show is 100% original, every word, every musical note and lyric and every arrangement.
Auditions will be held Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, August 12th, 13th, 14th. These will be open to any and all interested individuals. Rehearsals will begin the following Monday and continue as we head toward opening night on Friday, December 6th, 2019 to begin a run of at least six performances. All show related activities will take place at Woodstock Academy’s Bates Auditorium.
