Veterans Coffee House
August 14 @ 9:00 am - 11:00 am
Topic: Ron Tillen will present: “A LOST LANCASTER AND THE FRENCH RESISTANCE” This tale begins with a young French man, a New Zealander and an Englishman meeting in a remote woodland. From a hand written account in an exercise book this story grows to detail life in a country side occupied by a cruel enemy and the way in which the imposed martial law was subverted. There are adventures, narrow escapes, murders and heroism. It ends with celebrations in a small village in Burgundy and the enjoyment of some fine wine. Presented by Ron Tillen who did research for a family history project on the crash of his cousin’s plane in France.
