Veterans Coffee House

Topic: Willimantic Fire Chief Marc Scrivener joined the U.S. Air Force in 1989 and served as Fire Protection Specialist. He separated from Active Duty in 1994, and served in the Reserves in the late 1990s. Chief Scrivener will share how his training and experience in the Air Force enabled him to establish a career as civilian firefighter, along with a few humorous anecdotes.
The Chamber of Commerce, Windham Region, in partnership with the Salvation Army, TVCCA and RSVP, will be hosting a weekly Veterans’ Coffee House on Wednesdays at 9 am at the Salvation Army, 316 Pleasant Street, Willimantic. The coffeehouse provides a comfortable and supportive location for veterans of any age to meet, socialize, communicate and provide and discuss information regarding veteran benefits and services through federal and state agencies and programs. It is an opportunity for Veterans to meet and talk to each other. Free for anyone to attend, refreshments provided, handicap accessible. The Windham Region Veterans’ Coffee House is open to all Veterans and their families. There is no cost to attend. Coffee and refreshments are served. The Windham Region Chamber of Commerce, TVCCA, The Salvation Army and the Willimantic Elks all sponsor and host the Coffee House.
