Please join us at the Mansfield Tomorrow Community Kick-Off Event
Date: Wednesday, January 30th 7:00 pm
Location: Buchanan Center at the Mansfield Public Library
What is Mansfield Tomorrow?
In the next several years, Mansfield will change – Storrs Center will be completed, construction will begin on a new UConn Technology Park, and we will expand our public water system. While these projects will bring opportunities for new jobs and businesses, it is important for us to understand and manage how they will affect our town. The decisions made today will shape how we live, work and play in Mansfield in the future.
How can we preserve the best of Mansfield? How do we meet the challenges of the future?
Mansfield Tomorrow is our opportunity to shape the future. This project is designed to provide the vision, strategies and tools to become the 21st century community we want to be. At the end of this process, we will have a comprehensive plan that will address issues such as where new development should occur, what that development should look like, how to promote local businesses and support farms, how we might make living in Mansfield more affordable for working families, and how to preserve the essential characteristics of our town. New zoning and subdivision regulations will be developed to implement our vision.
About the event
This event will be the first of many opportunities for residents and other stakeholders to share their aspirations for Mansfield’s future. At this meeting you will learn about Mansfield Tomorrow and have the opportunity to share ideas on what kinds of questions we should be asking about the future and how we can make sure that everyone has a chance to participate and contribute. More information on the project will be available at www.mansfieldtomorrow.com in the coming weeks.
If you have any questions about the project in general or the kick-off event, please contact Jennifer Kaufman, Mansfield Tomorrow Project Manager at 860.429.3015 ext. 204 or firstname.lastname@example.org .
