There’s So Much Going On in Connecticut Tourism Right Now

Spring is finally here, and summer isn’t far down the road. We’ve recently changed the look of CTvisit.com to reflect the change in season; in fact, we’ve now added a “Season Selector” feature that lets people search for attractions and activities year-round. These are just a few of the things we are doing to make sure our state, and our partners, look great to visitors any time of year. You can help too, by updating your listing images and letting us know about events and deals as soon as you have them. The more we know about your offerings, the more we will work to share them.

Thanks as always for all you do to make visiting Connecticut still revolutionary. Best wishes for a great spring and summer season.

Thank You for Another Great Tourism Conference!

This year’s Connecticut Governor’s Conference on Tourism was once again a great success, thanks to our sponsors and to the 17 speakers, 429 attendees and 30+ exhibitors who joined us! From travel expert Doug Lansky’s insightful and humorous keynote to the Governor’s awards presentation to the inspiring workshops, it was great to see how we are working together to move our industry forward.

Visit CTTourismConference.com for photos, presentations, and the opening session video from this year’s conference.

… And Thanks for Our Successful Outreach Meetings, Too!

Last month the Office of Tourism hosted six informative Outreach Meetings, in Hartford, Branford, Groton, Willington, Litchfield and Westport, which were attended by around 400 industry partners. We are grateful to everyone who came out to meet us! We host these meetings each year in order to share, in-person, the progress and plans of the Office of Tourism and to give partners an opportunity to ask questions. If you weren’t able to attend, or just want to see what was discussed, click below to see the presentation or email Rosemary.Bove@ct.gov.

Summer Is Coming!

Now is the time to update your listing page photos with warm weather pics! Gardens, greenery, kids in short sleeves—anything that says the warm weather is here! A good seasonal photo makes your destination more inviting to visitors—and may even increase your chance of being seen on a homepage or landing page! If you need help updating your listing page or adding photos, contact jean.hebert@ct.gov.

Add Your Summer Events Now to CTvisit.com

Visitors are starting to make their summer plans now. And they love events! (The Event section of CTvisit is one of the most popular.) So take a few minutes to enter your events on CTvisit through August. And if you entered an event last year, simply update the date and any other information.

As extra incentive, remember we are always checking CTvisit to determine what events to feature in the press, on social media posts, and on the site, so the sooner you enter them, the sooner we can help promote them. If you need help adding an event, contact jean.hebert@ct.gov

Connecticut Partners in the News

There’s definitely a buzz about us…thanks in part to the Office of Tourism’s active, ongoing PR outreach.

Recently, amNewYork gushed about Hartford as a great escape for New Yorkers. Budget Travel chose Mystic Seaport, alongside attractions in Guatemala and Italy, as a top educational destination. Country Living profiled three Connecticut towns in its list of 20 unexpected summer spots in the country. USA Today featured new and established restaurants in central CT and the chefs behind them. And ZAGAT gave us more reasons to love New Haven!
