The Chamber of Commerce, Windham Region, hosts monthly networking luncheons for women entrepreneurs and business leaders. This is a fantastic opportunity for women to meet each other, exchange business leads, share professional experiences and share information about their companies. This luncheon takes place the second Tuesday of each month and includes lunch and a beverage. Each month’s agenda will include either networking, have a special speaker or a discussion.

This month’s networking luncheon agenda includes speakers Sergeant Matthew Solak of the Willimantic Police Department & Corporal Miller. Topic will be Safety.
Sergeant Matthew Solak — active shooter response instructor, certified through the Connecticut Police Academy. He also served on the SWAT Team for 9 ½ years, and has a background in community policing and mental health/crisis response training for Police Officers, and is the Willimantic Police Department’s representative to the Windham Community Cares Outreach Team, which focuses on homelessness and substance abuse issues in the region.
Corporal Miller – is one of the coordinators of their Citizen’s Police Academy, and has a background in investigations, computer crimes, and fraud.
They will be focusing their presentation on Safety – personal safety geared to meeting with customers and clients in their homes and/or one-on-one in an office environment and public space safety. They will also touch upon the Citizen’s Police Academy and like all the guest speakers, they will address any specific questions our members have.
